LANDED JUST IN TIME FOR THANKSGIVING!!!

Today I was out for a drive when I ran across this little spaceship and this alien being sitting/standing on top of it. I guess there is life out there after all. If this is what they look like though it's pretty frightening!! I think it/they just came for the Thanksgiving food!

Here's a closer look.

Thank you all for your kind words on my last post. Things have calmed down around here and are back to normal. My husband is doing better with no red spots and no fever. I am okay, and Pup is feeling much better too. Pup must have hurt himself somehow. He is now able to jump onto the bed without me helping him. He has gone from walking to trotting. A few more days and I think he'll be good as new!
I hope everyone has a very happy and blessed Thanksgiving and enjoy the time with family and friends, and remember all the things we have to be thankful for.
It's That Time Again
The days are getting shorter now.
I feel a snow flake on my brow.
The leaves are crackling as I run,
The squirrels' searching almost done.
The turkey's restless in the pen,
Oh! No! I see my breath again!
It makes a person take a pause
And think about old Santa Claus!!!

Red Hot Body Picture Plus More!!!

What a week I've had. It's been wild and I have not been on the computer at all hardly. So I am way behind on posting and blog reading. That's life sometimes though.

Last Friday I had a day off and someone here to stay with my husband. I went to my brother's cabin and visited with them for most of the day. It's very peaceful there. There was only one vehicle that went by while I was there and before that had only been the mailman. This is the road driving in. It was kind of hard to find sometimes due to the leaves covering it.

It was nice to get away and not having to worry about my husband while I was gone. I came home at 8 p.m. and he was confused all evening. At 2 a.m. Saturday morning I noticed how hot he felt so I took his temperature and it was 102. He also had a place on his left hip/thigh/buttock that was red and very hot to the touch. He does this sometimes. Gets red hot spots on his skin and runs a fever. The doctor does not know why. They give him antibiotics and he gets better, the temp. goes down, the red spots go away. This time it's early Saturday morning. I have no antibiotics. The weekend. No doctor. I gave him Tylenol as needed. He did not sleep for 3 days and nights. I debated as to calling an ambulance and having him taken to the ER. What could they do? Draw blood and keep us there all night/day? I decided to wait it out until Monday morning and get in touch with the VA nurse, which is what I did. They called in antibiotics about 1 p.m. He has never had as many red spots as he had this time. I assume this is because of the delay in getting started on antibiotics. He ended up having red spots on his right upper arm, his left thigh, both inner thighs, down the back of both legs and over his left knee. Now they are all gone and his temp. today was 99.

Here is a picture of his left thigh area, to show you this strange rash..or whatever it is.

Tuesday I had a bug of some sort and felt awful and sick at my stomach. Wednesday I felt like crap too. Thursday I was pretty much back to normal, thankfully.

Since I'm telling about sickness, Pup is sick too. He has been feeling bad for a couple of days. There are no visible signs of anything but he hobbles around like he's in awful pain. He is eating. Not much, but eating. He is drinking and peeing. I'm hoping this gets better on its' own. Maybe he pulled something? I have no idea but I'm hoping it's minor. If he isn't better by Monday I'll take him to the vet.

Now aren't I just full of exciting news?? Well, that has been my week...pretty much....

except......

Yesterday I decided to make cookies and decorate them. Cookie anyone?

I hope your week has been wonderful, and I will get around to doing some blog reading hopefully soon!!

SKITTLES

Well there hasn't been much happening around here to blog about. I know some people can take one statement from someone and make a whole post about it. Not me. Writing is just not one of those things I'm that talented at. I certainly admire those who can.

We have been having gloomy days with rain for the most part. We do need the rain so no complaints there. It's that time of the year and it's due to start getting colder. Tomorrow it's going to be in the high 60's and then on Saturday it'll be around 45, so that's a pretty good drop, that will have me grabbing my sweater when I go outside.

Here's the latest critter to take up residence here. This one came along as a stray. It's a beautiful cat, as you can see, also very friendly. My neighbor said it had come to his house and he had petted it and gave it the name of "Skittles." So Skittles it is. Naturally it would like my house better than his. He has 4 dogs. I have 4 cats, not counting Skittles. It's okay. Skittles can stay. I haven't determined if Skittles is a male or female. My front porch is also very cat friendly with several nice warm places to get out of the wind with blankets and rugs to curl up on. There is also food readily there for eating or snacking. Then the owner comes out fairly often and pets you and scratches your belly, holds you, and tells you how cute you are. A cat's paradise you might say.

Here's a joke I hope at least makes you smile if it doesn't make you LOL.

Ma was in the kitchen fiddling around when she hollers out....
"Pa, You need to go out and fix the outhouse!"
Pa replies, "There ain't nuthin wrong with the outhouse."
Ma yells back, "Yes there is, now git out there and fix it."
So.......Pa mosies out to the outhouse, looks around and yells back,
"Ma There ain't nuthin wrong with the outhouse! "
Ma replies, "Stick yur head in the hole!"
Pa yells back, "I ain't stickin my head in that hole!"
Ma says, "Ya have to stick yur head in the hole to see what to fix."
So with that, Pa sticks his head in the hole,
looks around and yells back,
"Ma There ain't nuthin wrong with this outhouse!"
Ma hollers back, "Now take your head out of the hole!"
Pa proceeds to pull his head out of the hole, then starts yelling,
"Ma Help! My beard is stuck in the cracks in the toilet seat!"
To which Ma replies, "Hurt's, don't it ?!"

Here is a Prayer that I found and would like to dedicate it to
Ralph.

Daily Prayer

So far today, God, I've done all right.
I haven't gossiped, haven't lost my temper.
I haven't been greedy, grumpy, nasty, selfish or over-indulgent.
I'm really glad about that.
But in a few minutes, God, I'm going to get out of bed,

and from then on, I'm probably going to need a lot of help!
Thank you in Jesus's name.
Amen.

Ecological Day (A DAY LATE--OOPS!!!)

Water pollution is a serious problem. Contamination of a small stream which feeds into our lakes and rivers and then eventually going into the ocean can be very harmful to the organisms and plants which live in the water.
Here is a picture of chemical pollution. Can you imagine anything trying to live in this?

Some humans are so bad to toss trash and garbage where they should not. It's such a shame that some people are like that. They seem to have no concern for the Earth. This picture was taken on the Ohio River and the garbage is so thick it looks like you could walk on it.

I would certainly hope that people would try to preserve and keep clean areas such as the picturesque one below. This is the beautiful Cumberland River. Streams, lakes, rivers, and the ocean are all so much nicer for all of us without the pollution. Let's all help keep our Earth clean.

Election Cake! Sunday Sign

Here is a lovely cake that my nephew's wife made! Isn't it pretty? She did this for a cake decorating class she is taking and she had to have a theme. Well, she did this one to kind of represent the presidential election. See the elephant and donkey on the side...the red, white, and blue ribbons.. the white daisies, red roses, and blue canna lillies. She also mixed up her 2008 letters since it's been such a crazy political roller coaster kind of thing this year.

See the black rosebud? That's one for Obama! Out of her class she was the one chosen to go on to the next class. Only one is chosen so that is an honor! She is very talented when it comes to making cakes and cooking in general. That woman can COOK!!!

SUNDAY SIGN

This also goes along with elections. I have seen those commercials and they end up with "I'm so and so and I approve this message!" Won't we all be glad when it's over??? Whew!!

Hope everyone has a very blessed Sunday!!!
