Sunday Sign and Other Ramblings
Here is a church sign from the church sign generator where you make your own! How's this for a cool church sign?
This is a picture I put on a post last fall, of me and all my blogging friends. You can go ahead and pick yourself out of the bunch! Heck, we are all too cute!
I think I am ready for cooler temps. I know I am! It's still been in the 90's. Today I mowed the lawn and used the weed trimmer and all that stuff that goes along with lawn mowing. I got smart this time and when I was using the weed trimmer I stuck an old, but clean, rag in my pocket so I could stop and wipe the sweat off my face occasionally. I hate that sweat running in your eyes and onto your lips and you get that salty taste. Don't get me wrong. I am thankful that I can still work hard enough to raise a sweat. I really hate to complain because then I feel like I'm sounding ungrateful, but I'm not. I'm just saying!
I have been busy this week trying to catch up on some things around here. I went into the filing cabinet, which runneth over, and I dug out all kinds of things to shred. I ended up with a stack about a foot high to shred and that took some time to run them all through and empty all that shredded paper. They say you are supposed to keep some documents for 7 years. Good grief. Not everyone has enough storage place for all that stuff. We sure don't. I do keep the income tax records for many years but honestly, I don't see the need for keeping everything else after a few months. I need to go through it again because I only grazed the surface.
Another thing is magazines. I get some and after I read them I hate to just toss them out. So I stack them up with the intentions of taking them to the hospital or the nursing home and leaving them there. But my stack is getting taller and taller. Then there is the stack that I haven't had time to read yet and it's getting taller and taller. No, I don't subscribe to that many either. Just seems I don't have time to read them much anymore. Well, maybe when winter comes I can catch up on them.

It's still unseasonably hot here too, Rachel.
I'm one of the shortest widest acorns. ;D
Happy Sunday to you too!
Love and hugs,
Diane
I'm the third from the left and fourth up from the bottom.
I like your church sign, I use the generator some too. In fact I looked at it tonight and made one but it wasn't right to post.
I like yours.
..
LOL, LOL, LOL...Oh I found me right away! I'm the really cute one...(Just fooling around Rachel.
I need to do what you are doing SOOOO Badly.....I have been trying to clean out a lot of tapes and stuff like that....I don't get very many magazines anymore cause I found I wssn't reading them...It is aqn endless process, this cleaning out...ENDLESS! (lol)
Easy to find me. I'm the FAT one:-) I love cleaning out files now that we burn our trash. I can throw things out right away instead of waiting until I can destroy them because it all gets destroyed. Now, about the magazines, well that is a problem for us too. We keep holding on because there might be an article we missed and we'll go back to it. Since you are a Countryside Magazine lover, you know that NONE of those magazines can ever be thrown away. And my Backyard Poultry magazines are priceless and we are going to give the extra Small Farm magazines to a friend someday and, and, and.......We're doomed to be found buried in magazines someday.
I'm the one in the middle!
Still hot here too! But on the upside, I can still swim in the pool.
As for mail and magazines... I quit getting magazines accept for the ones I receive as gifts. Catalogs are a constant issue along with junk mail. One of my projects yesterday was to sort through all of the stacked up mail again! Good luck with yours!
Gosh, we are a nutty bunch.
I know how easy it is to get buried in papers and magazines. I'm sitting in a nest of them right now.
Hopefully it will cool down soon. I'm tired of trying to sleep in this heat.
Take some time off today -- you deserve it!
It's been glorious here. What to do with an extra couple of weeks of summer? I love it. But I have a sneaking suspicion that we'll pay for it with an extra cold winter. I love the picture of nuts. I couldn't find me in the picture. Then I remembered I'm rather new to your blog so I wouldn't have been pictured last year. :-)
AHHH- :( I missed that photo session.
I'm kind of new around your place, Rachel!
That cleaning out and de-cluttering thing... I need to do that -in a big way!!
Junie
I found me! I am the nutty one.
I like the sign.
I will send some of our cool air down for you.
You file? I take everything out to the burn barrel and set it on fire..
I don't keep much..
Huggles and Love,
Raggedy
Yes, be grateful you can work up a sweat in your yard. Be grateful you have a yard to sweat in! I have friends who have had to give up their homes and move to retirement communities - for the first year, they were so content to let the grounds-keepers do it all, but they realized they really missed that job accomplished feeling and the satisfaction of having created a nice place.
For myself, I am grateful I was able to get out in the yard yesterday and move some mulch to the Crape Myrtles down the bank. My property is a tenth of a mile long and I have tried to keep Crape Myrtles, camellias and azaleas along that stretch of road. I am so glad I was well enough this week-end to be able to work out there for a while. But it WAS hot! I usually wear a headband to keep the sweat out of my eyes.
Today is supposed to break a record here for warm temps. It should get to almost 90. Strange.
The nut picture looks like what happens if you shake my family tree too hard.
We've been cool for some time now. Oct-Nov is the pay off for living in Nebraska the 0ther 10 months.
On the sweat. My Dad used to say "I'm either moving too fast or I have too many clothes on for what I'm doing, so I think I'll just slow down."
You are lucky to still have such a nice weather ! Here it became very cool, foggy and wet and the trees are stripteasing !
I see me in that photo. I'm the one with the big smile. See?? Right there. Ya, that one.
:-)
It's been highs of upper 80's here each day with heavy humidity. I've liked it because I don't mind humidity when the temps are not too high. We begin cooling down starting today. I guess fall decided to come. I have no grass to mow, so yardwork is pretty easy around here. Take it easy when you work hard and drink lots of water.
I don't want to hear that you've fainted on your front lawn.
Your blogger Sunday sign made me think of a good idea. Maybe I should start having Blog Church every Sunday at my blog. After all, my hubby is a minister and he and I have been in ministry since high school, and in full time ministry for nearly 23 years. I think that's what I will do. Get ready for Blog Church at my place every Sunday. You can attend in your jammies and NO offering will ever be taken.
How's that??!!
well its about 49 out right now here, and I am hating every minute of it
*sigh*
what cute acorns;)
Hey Rachel...My first actual post was October 4th, but it wassn't dated....So, the first date was October 7th....I have to look up when you first commented....Fun, isn't it?
I can't recognize myself in the picture anymore...have I really changed all that much!?
It's burrrrr cold here tonight, but I'm not going to complain because I have a new gas insert that I'm dying to use, but it's not quite cold enough yet. You need to come over and see how nice it looks in my living room.
Love the chuch sign...It's special.
Today I spent cleaning out some closets and drawers getting ready for a yard sale this weekend. It's not mine, but I'm going to donate some stuff to it.
Not so long ago Jimmy & I spent a whole day shredding papers then I told him to burn the shreds. We need to clean out our filing cabinet really bad...it's overflowing.
I like the sign! Also the little acorn people are really cute. Which one am I? Far left bottom. Yep that's me for sure!
I used to save mag's for the rest home too nnd like you kept forgetting them until I decided to store them in my car. It worked.
These days I only get a few magazines and my daughter reads them when I'm done.
Our temps are getting very cool. Not freezing but sometimes in the 40s.
Rachel
Good post, picture, and sign. Yep, I looked at those nuts and swear I recognized Cliff, Jamie, Jerry, Nora. . . .
That sounds way too hot to be comfortable. Love your sign generator. Cute "family" of acorns!
Happy shredding. I don't enjoy that job much...
:)
