HOT HOT HOT

It's been so hot here and we are under a heat advisory. The temperature is right at 100 for highs with the heat index around 110. That with the high humidity makes for some real serious sweating going on.
I thought maybe this picture of the snow might help to cool me down and remind me that before we know it it'll turn cooler and the sweaters and jackets will have to come out. Therefore, I'm trying not to complain too much about it. I know others are getting the same thing.
We are moving up in the world in our neck of the woods. They put the yellow dividing stripes down the middle of our road today. One of my neighbors had called our magistate and complained a few times and told him we needed them. Lo and behold, she got it done! They only did it part of the way, because the end of our road is not wide enough. But it goes well past her house, so she is happy! She doesn't drive at night but she felt like if there was a yellow line in the middle that she could. I guess we'll see how that goes! Maybe the center lines will help some people to stay on their side of the road better. So many of them want to take their half right down the middle.
I have been staying in where the A/C is. It's just been too hot to get out and do much of anything except what has to be done. I have been doing some sewing and some reading. I haven't been on the computer that much, but I try to get around to blog commenting when I can! I will catch up sooner or later!

Your jokes always shock me a little. You have a naughty person in who which wants to get out. LOL

It has been warm here but not nearly as bad as the weather in much of the US. At least once again I go for a swim in our lovely river, float around and sometimes sit up to my neck. So cool and refreshing.

Here let me splash a little on you!

Hey Rachel, I had to turn my Kiddie Filter off before your blog would come up today!
Thanks for finding me, I'm taking it easy in the blog world till October. But I can't stay away so will put up a picture or two quite regularly.

Yes, Adi IS so cute, isn't she.
Your snow post made me think of ripe cotton until I read the post.
Maybe I should put up Adi with her icicle. That will make you feel cool too, maybe? See this:

I know how you feel Rachel, humidity is what kills us. Here, it rained so hard on Wednesday that I honestly thought we would need to have a boat to run errands. But the rain ceased very quickly, and it just make things more humid. The heat index was so high and the humidity was terrible. I shouldn't complain though, like you I can say we will be bringing the sweaters out soon. Hope your heat breaks soon, they say today (friday) it will here.

(Loved the joke. Stealin' it of course.)

Yep. Hot as heck here. I stay inside a lot.

Also loved the post below! Jamie Dawn is getting around a lot! I know she met Doug of Waking Ambrose too. I've ALWAYS wanted to go to that long yard sale.

I'm definitely not ready for snow or rain, but I would love to see an overcast cloudy day once in a while just to block those hot heat rays from the sun. I've also been staying inside basking in the A/C and I'm beginning to feel like a prisoner.

I'm always glad to see those yellow lines in the center of the roads, but past your house there's no way they could divide the road in half...unless motorcycle & bicycle traffic is all that will be allowed. hehehe

That joke!! Oh, my!!

:)

This summer weather has been just awful! We have lost a cow- apparently from the extreme heat.

I haven't done much of anything- outside- the past few days....Well, tried yesterday to do garden stuff but didn't last long!

Keep cool!

BP has added to her blog since I had seen it last time.

For some reason you can't hit the back button and get out. You have to hit the arrow key and pick your own blog to return.
I will talk with Billy about that. He is into computers, either he made it that way or he can fix it.

Stay cool, Adi and I are trying to do that.
