Rainy Days and Quilting

Yesterday was a rainy day and so I spent some time making some quilt blocks. Oh, you want to see one? Maybe two? Okay. These have not been pressed yet. The star one is harder than the simple 9 patch you see behind it! I do love quilts!

I saw this guy/gal in front of Hardee's a while back. It was super hot that day too. I'll bet he/she was really sweating in that outfit! I actually think this would be a fun job though. Stand out there and look silly and wave to folks passing by and no one knows who you are!! When I pass by I always wave!! He/she knows I'm taking their picture too! I'll bet they got so excited they laid an egg, which probably fried immediately!!

That "Costume" must be sooo hot! I wonder how the person survives in the heat of summer? I love that you always wave...I think I would too....!
LOVE Quilts, Rachel.....My sister is kind of a "master" Quilter....at least, I think she is...lol! There is a WONDERFUL show called "Quilters" that is kind of the history f quilting..it is a play with songs...Quite Wonderful. I bet you would enjoy that!

Oh you are going to have a ball with JD and her family...Such sweet fun people....I actually talked to her father on the phone, too! She is bringing something to you, from me....It is just a little something, but I figured since she will be seeing you "in person"...maybe she would just carry it to you!

Take LOTS of pictures, please!

Hi Rachel, you enjoy you visit with JD and family.
I can get you a 'chicken guy' job at Hardee's. You pick the one you want to work at.
That sure beats WalMart, being outside in the open and fresh air and healthy sun and all.
Especially, all that air conditioned WalMart air isn't good for you to be breathing.

I haven't done any in few years, but I love to quilt. I prefer hand quilting to sewing it on the machine, but I've done both. Getting those corners to line up without puckering is a booger, ain't it? LOL! ;D

I don't think I'd like being in that chicken suit unless it's indoors under the AC! I'd be a boiled chicken before I could lay an egg, that's for sure! ;D

Have a wonderful weekend, Rachel. :o)

Love and hugs,

Diane

The quilt blocks are very nice. I especially like the star. I have made a few pieced quilts but haven't done any for a long time. It seems that my genealogy research and blogging are taking up most of my time.
We have the dressed up advertisers here too and I'm sure those costumes are absolutely miserable on hot days. I think it's great to give them a wave. It must make their job more tolerable.

That quilt project looks great, Rachel. I always admire the craftsmanship and hours of labor in those masterpieces. I have to admit I'd line through the Chicken Suit Job on the ole resume though. ;0)

I dressed as a rabbit once and did that. I was a teenager and loved it.

Rachel, the quilt squares look wonderful. I love to do that too! I have my first quilt top pieced, but have not done the quilting. Do you do the quilting?
And no thanks.....no chicken job for me. I'm to "chicken"!!!!

It's a man and he's doing this to get away from the nest for a while. He's probably hen-pecked. Either that or his wife really knows how to ruffle his feathers. Okay. I'll quit.
It's good to be back Rachel. Thanks for the nice visit. I'm envious of both you and JD. I'd like to be there too.

BTW, after catching up, I wanted to admit that the pink gum was mine and that I'm the who gave that lady the crabs. I want them back. C

Love the quilt square Rachel. I haven't seen many chickens on corners here, but we don't have Hardees. We have the dancing guys on street corners waving signs though..

Did you hear about the judge who sentenced three guys to wear chicken suits and carry a sign for xxx weeks as their punishment?
