Blue and Orange

Here's a look at the local helicopter from the hospital. I was recently at an event and they landed the helicopter so we could have a look inside. I thought it would be bigger inside, but it was pretty small, with the patient being right beside the pilot and a seat behind the pilot that would hold 3 people. The company said they do have larger ones that hold 2 patients, but this one is just for one person. Everyone kept saying how small the stretcher was for the patient. It was not very wide at all. I'm sure most people hang over the sides, even if they are a normal weight!

Here's a joke for ya!

Patient says, "Doc, you must check my leg. Something's wrong. Just put your ear up to my thigh, you'll hear it!
The doctor cautiously places his ear to the man's thigh only to hear, "Give me $10! I'm desperate! I need $10!"
"I've never seen or heard anything like this before! How long has this been going on?" the doctor asked.
"That's nothing, Doc. Put your ear to my knee.
The doctor put his ear to the man's knee and heard it say, "Please! I really need $5! Just $5! Please! I'm desperate!"
"Sir, I really don't know what to tell you. I've never seen anything like this." The doctor was truly dumbfounded.
"Wait, Doc, that's not all of it. There's more. Just put your ear down on my ankle," the man urged him.
The doctor did as the man said and was amazed to hear his ankle plead, "Please, I just need $20! Please lend me $20, please! I am really desperate!"
"I have no idea what to tell you," the doctor said. "There's nothing about it in any of my books," he said as he frantically searched all his medical reference books. "However... I can make a well-educated guess.
Based on life and all my previous experiences, I can tell you with some certainty, that your leg seems to be broke in three places."

Now isn't this a cute little pumpkin for Halloween?! This is Nate and was taken last Halloween. He is my great-nephew! He's running all over the place now!

Now here he is at his first birthday party!! He was very excited about the cake!!!

I got a haircut today; just a trim on the top part. I'm trying to let the bottom grow out a little and cover my ears for the winter. It helps to keep my ears warm.

I visited my nephew and his family for a little while today too. I took my great-nephew (he's 12) a Dale Earnhardt (did I spell that right?) knife. Not long ago I gave him a throwing knife. Today after he thanked me for the knife he said, "You just keep giving me dangerous weapons!" I thought that was funny! I never give them anything like that without an okay from their parents first. I don't want to get in trouble with any Moms and Dads.

This weekend we have a reunion and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone. I will be making a cake and some other food to take. Should be fun and I hope the weather is nice.

I hope all my blogging friends are having a wonderful week!

That Helicopter is Fascinating...I would have thought it would be bigger, too!

Your Grand Nephew---He must be a lot bigger by now and with Halloween coming...Will he go "Trick Or Treating", or is he still too young?

I bet you will make a FABULOUS Cake, Rachel, because of that Cake Making Course you took....
I hope you take a picture of it!

Parents don't want to say that they bought their children knives so they let you get them. They can then blame the aunt or the grandparents.

Great joke!

Little Nate is such a doll. He reminds me of my grandson. I bet your cake will be so good and so pretty. The joke is very funny. I never thought about looking in one of those helicopters but I bet it was interesting. Have a good weekend.

A cute little pumpkin kid.

Every 12 year old boy needs a pocket knife to do stuff with.
I have my doubts about a throwing knife.
When I was that age I had a pocket knife I carefully sharpened on a whet stone until it was good and sharp. Then I started to peel a lemon to eat (a ate them like oranges back then). I slipped and nearly sliced off the end of one of my fingers. My mother just looked at it pressed the dangling slice back in place and wrapped it up. "It will be OK." I carry the scar today as a reminder.

I still carry a pocket knife to do stuff with.

What a cute little fella!
I still carry a Swiss pocket knife a friend gave me years ago. We were in a watercolor class and it was very handy in cutting the paper off the blocks and "drawing" the marsh grass in the paint.
See? Girls can have knives, too!

I had never thought about the helicopter being that small. I just hope I never have to ride in it! LOL Nate is so cute. Blink a few times and he will be grown. I loved the joke. At my exercise class, on Tuesday someone tells a joke. I printed that one, so I can read it come Tuesday.

That was a silly joke and I'm emailing to my 88 year old aunt. She'll get a kick out of it.
