LOL, LOL...YEAH! I loved this story...Lee Meriwether (Miss America 1955) emailed this a few days ago....Isn't this lady something? Smart & Fast, still!!
I loved how she said she was just trying to live a "guiet life" and that it was "one thing after another"...! Don't you wonder what else happened? I have to go back and look at Lee's email cause I think that something else was included! If it was there, I'll let you know.

She was my hero and I didn't even know about her being Miss America once.
I saw her a couple of times on the TV news but I sure missed the Miss America thing.
Mrs. Jim knew! She is trained (or is it her gift?) to be people observant about people, she is a retired social worker.

Rachel, you are right about the speedometer, it is my '98 Mustang.

She still looks very good for her age, and did what she had to do because she had a gun. I am always amazed that everybody seems to run around with a gun in the States. In Belgium nobody is allowed to buy a gun only policemen have one.

Anyone that can balance their walker and then use a .38-caliber pistol to shoot out car tires has my respect!

I find it funny how everyone praises what she did but then complain that the gun laws are too lax.

Just a note to all the gun haters out there... If there were more people like her in the world some of these college shootings might end a bit sooner and with less casualties. Just a thought.
