Tobacco Crop

Here's a newly set out patch of tobacco. I'm sure it could use some rain right now. We still haven't gotten any, only sprinkles so far. Tomorrow afternoon they are giving a 40% chance and maybe severe storms. We sure need the rain but we don't need any severe storms. Notice those nice hills there in the background!

I bought myself one of those things that straightens your hair. I have the usual hair styling items; curling irons (large and small), a curling iron that curls while it dries your hair, etc., but I didn't have the one that straightened it. I got one and the great thing about it is that it gets hot in only seconds. Just plug it in and turn it on and presto -- it's hot!! Finger burning hot! I was reading the instructions and one of them said, "Do not use this product while sleeping." Well darn!! Here I thought I could use it around 6 a.m. while I was sleeping and then when I got up later my hair would be all done! They really think we are stupid don't they? I think if you can use it while you are sleeping then you are really talented!

Those things are great! I bought one a few months ago; I'd given up on my hair but that has given me hope... And yes, they get hot fast!

It's hot and dry here too, Rachel. We need rain desperately, but like you, we have a chance of rain and possibly severe storms here on Friday.

We don't grow tobacco here but cotton and soybeans look much the same growing in the fields.

I have one of those flat irons to straighten hair, but since I no longer have hair I guess I'll have to give it to my daughter, Jessica. :-)

Have a wonderful Friday!

Love and hugs,

Diane

My grandparents use to grow tobacco in KY. There was some kind of program that the government paid them not to plant and they would get a check for that. Can't remember all the details.
Hope you get some rain soon. It looks so dry!!
I would never need to straighten my hair, it needs curl, if anything!!

Probably the person that wrote that used it while sleeping because it takes a really stupid person to write something like that.

I keep wondering why I don't wake up with shiny straight hair.
I started using one of those flat irons a few months ago.
It has been a big switch. Before that my hair care routine consisted of running my fingers through my wild wavy hair. No products or appliances.
Speaking of that, I'd better jump in the shower!

Is it too dry for the peanuts too?
Those are pretty mountains. About four weeks ago I was just on the other side there.

If your new straightener is the automatic mechanized kind, you shouldn't use it while you are sleeping.
You have to stop them manually when they get to your scalp.

We need rain also. We had a good shower last week-end, but now it's as dry as ever.

Rachel
Did Cliff plant those? The reason I am asking is the rows don't look straight.

We had three things that would curl your hair in this house at one time.
But they've grown up and moved out and have their own little hair curlers.
That pic, is that what you've been smokin??

I think my daughter Sharon could use one while sleeping...she sleep walks and you'd be surprised what people do while sleeping. hehehe

I love the natural curls in your hair, so why do you want to mess with a good thing Rachel? I have straight hair with a slight wave to it now that I'm older, but I would give anything for natural curls.

I think people's tobacco crops are drying up...no rain except for a small shower yesterday.

LOL, LOL, LOL....Oh My Lordy!
Sometimes directions are unbelievable...I mean, FIRST of all...they have to know that it heats up in seconds...
Oh it just occurred to me that maybe they think someone else might use it on you while you are sleeping??? NOT!! Lol...Hilarious, Rachel.
