WEEKEND BOATING

The lake seemed pretty busy to me this weekend but this is the only place I visited to see, so I really don't know about other parts of the lake. One good thing about the lake being down is all the parking it gives the folks with their trailers. There was never enough parking at this area.........until now!

When this boat took off it almost stood straight up! I don't know if it scared him, but it sure gave me a fright!

Ah yes, Memorial Day weekend is always the busiest weekend on the lake. I don't know why. The water is usually full of debris and it's chilly. I'd much rather hit the lake August / September. It's always less crowded then.

Our Brazos River is out of its banks tonight west of Houston.
We would like to send some of that water to your lake, just tell us where to put it.

I liked your picture yesterday. It looks old, was it?

Boating on a lake is lovely, isn't it? I'm amazed that the land there is being used for parking...I know it probably cannot happen but I would be worried that somehow the water would be coming back and my car would be submerged...lol! Crazy, I know!

Living on a waterway, we see a lot of boats doing c.r.a.z.y things! What scares me is the jetskiers out there when the boats are showing off. Luckily we have a coast guard station right here in town and they patrol pretty well.

What a nice lake. I used to go boating on the bay here, but we got caught in a wind storm one time and that took all the fun out of it for me. The waves were so high we couldn't even see the shore. I didn't get sea sick, I think I was too scared, but I did wet my pants.
We fished for salmon just pleasure fishing, not commercial.

As you said, with the water being down, it's giving them extra parking space! lol I remember going with my dad boating all the time while I was growing up, I loved it so much. xox

I love the lake picture, Rachel - I'd like to see more. I'll try to post some, too. Fortunately, after two years and some serious storms, our drought has ended and our lakes are full.

My kids practically grew up on the waterways in a boat. We went boating practically every weekend and loved it. The lake doesn't look so bad in your pictures...it looks like there is still plenty of water there.

Hi,

Was just checking out your blog and see you like to ride motorcycles! :) We like to ride too- but I don't ride, myself- just behind my husband.

That boat on the lake looks scary!

Wish we could have that much water in some of our dry lakes and dams Rachel.
