Church Sign and Thanksgiving Details

Thanks Sandy for sending me this church sign. Lately the ones I have seen have been repeats. Guess I could try making up my own....hmmm.......

Well, I must say I had a good Thanksgiving. After that big meal I feel like this critter here and that I can't even scratch my own behind due to being so fat! Heehee...well, maybe I'm exaggerating a little bit. :)

My stepdaughter and her husband came in from Charlotte and we 3 went to my nephew's house to eat Thanksgiving dinner. My nephew's wife LOVES to cook, so she always has a feast. She cooks huge meals on the weekends too, not just for special occasions. She had gotten some of those warming pans to keep things hot and they were so nice. She had 3 of them, which gave her 9 compartments for side dishes. She had 11 side dishes, 2 types of cranberry sauce, giblet gravy, turkey, ham, rolls, and desserts were pumpkin roll, brownies, pecan pie, lemon pie, and prune cake. There was 10 of us there. We all had a great time eating and visiting. Their one daughter has taken drum lessons and we had her play for us. She is really good. Then we brought lots of goodies back for my husband to have. He enjoyed it too.

Then yesterday was our 9th anniversary. Hard to believe it's gone so fast, since it doesn't seem like that long. My step daughter and her husband said they were taking me to the restaurant of my choice to eat. I chose to go to a buffet restaurant in Monticello that has that wonderful fried catfish on Fridays. It's also such a pretty drive over there. The land is so pretty. The meal was great and then I took them out to the little chapel over there where I had been too before. They thought it was so adorable and here they are in front of it.
He is a jokster and a big cutup. So we had a lot of good laughs and talks, and I really enjoyed their visit. They headed back home today.

Now Christmas will be here before we know it. How many got in those early rushes as the doors opened early on Friday???

Not me!! I could't handle all those people trying to push and shove and snatch things like that. I prefer to just stay in bed.
They still had sales today and I went to JC Penney where I got some good deals on some pullover turtlenecks. I love turtlenecks as they keep that cold air from going down the back of my neck.

Me neither! I did shop Amazon.com for a few minutes but didn't buy anything, yet. But, ...
My camera is on picture # 8600 plus and the flash doesn't work since Adi knocked it off the cabinet.

None of that shopping/wrestling stuff for me, either!

Happy Anniversary! You know fried catfish is one of my favorite meals of all time.

Have a blessed Sunday, Rachel. :-)

Love and hugs,

SOunds like a truly wonderful day had by all! We spent a quiet one at my in laws. Enjoyed the company of family, and had a wonderful meal. Friday, my husband and I go to a store on LI here famous for housewears. FORTUNOFF. They used to only have the one location in WESTBURY, but now are in NJ and in Manhattan. They have an incredible Xmas store, set up on their "concourse" level (basement if you ask me) and we go every year just to buy a few ornaments for us and the tree. It is our time together, an annual event, something we both look foward to. We get out of the store before things get nuts and go have lunch, then make the trek home. A nice time for two. I don't do the "black Friday" thing, too much of a hassel, too much of crowded crazy folks!

My niece was so kind to all of us on Thanksgiving. Every time we would add something to our plates she would exclaim, "You might as well just apply it directly to your butt......" or "Just slap that on your thighs." Your little scratching critter reminded me of that. LOL

We accidentally went to town Friday. Not to shop but to sign safe deposit papers at the bank. We had made the appointment before remembering it was Black Friday. Traffic was bad but not as bad as it could have been and the bank, basically, was empty.

Great church sign! They just keep getting better.

I, too, try to avoid the madness at the mall this time of year...but we can't avoid it. We bought a huge snowglobe for the front lawn THAT DOESN'T WORK, so I'm forced to go to K-Mart (of all places) and exchange it. Today. Ugh!

Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the restaurant and the pic is beautiful, so much different than the pics I just posted on my blog.

Enjoy the most beautiful time of the year, Rachel!

You're welcome for the church sign. I always try to get a picture of any new ones that I see for you.

I don't dare go out on Black Friday to shop...did it once and that was enough for me!!!

Happy Anniversary.

Sounds like you had a wonderful time. Aren't you glad that you didn't have to do all that cooking? Happy Anniversary, BTW.

I did not venture out on Friday at all... I baby sat for my grandkids and worked on my Turkey Broth. I depend on my turkey broth for soup during the winter months....

TF and I went out Saturday night and found some good sales at Home Depot....It had been raining all day and we decided to go out for dinner and brave the weather.

Good Early Morning Rachel,
"HAPPY BELATED 9th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY". I'm glad you had a great Thanksgiving. I just love that Church sign. Where do you get all of them at? I think there is only 1 Church here in our town that has a sign out front that has different sayings on it. I don't have one of them fancy schmancy camera's like everyone else, so I have to use my little cell phone to take pictures. It has been raining here all day. I finally got my villages over here and I plan on putting it up sometimes this week. Well, take care my friend and have a Blessed Day. May God Bless You and Yours.

Hugs,
Karen H.

It is so nice to catch up with you today Miz Rachel!

I'm glad to hear you had such a yummy holiday!

I did go shopping with my daughter Friday but we did not get too early of a start. The weather was quite chilly and it was tempting to just stay in the warm house. But we did manage to get some things on her Christmas list later!

Have a great day! =)

Wow!! All that food sounds YUMMY!!!!!
She really did make a feast with all those compartments in those warming pans to fill.
I'm glad you had a nice holiday, and enjoyed time with your stepdaughter and her hubby.

Happy 9th Anniversary!!!!

That Sunday sign is a goodie.
I don't need a Faith Lift right this moment, but I sure could use a Bokunkus Lift. AND, I've got some excess fat to donate if you're interested.

So glad you came by and commented on the Cereus Flowers & Fruit....They are so very special. And I kind of love that nature knows we will be knovked out by the unusual nature of these amazing unusually plants in the Cactus & Succulent Families...! In a way, it teaches you to treasure these blooms because they aren't around very long at all!

Hello dear Rachel:-) Finally catching up with your news...Happy belated Anniversary, by the way! Glad you enjoyed such a lovely Thanksgiving...isn't it amazing what we can eat that day? lol I always enjoy the leftovers afterwards too, that's my problem! We don't get those early shopping days here like you had on Black Sunday...at this time of year, people camping outside the store would freeze overnight! lol xox

Rachel, It sounds like you had a grand weekend. I just love that little church and can't wait to see it in person.
I went to JCP's in Florida and bought a great coat for a great price.
It's a cold morning here - wind chill, uggh.
