Bits and Pieces

Today has been kind of cool. I did manage to get a few things done around the house that I've been meaning to get to. Seems there's always something that needs doing. I had to have the furnace worked on. It wasn't blowing. Turned out the blower motor had died and had to be replaced. Then we had the driveway resealed. They just spray that stinky tarry stuff on it. It'll smell for a few days yet. Having those two things done made the checking account scream!

A few days ago I took this picture of the yellow butterfly. It wasn't very big but a pretty one.

I'll leave you with this bit of a tongue twister.

The Duel:
Mr Knott and Mr Schott agreed to fight a duel. Knott was shot and Schott was not. So it was better to be Schott than Knott. However if Schott was shot and Knott was not then it would have been better to be Knott than Schott.

Our furnace boiler has been out for several weeks. (This is the parsonage, so we have to wait for the trustees to get to it....) Good thing the temps haven't been to low.

That looks like a big butterfly. Too cold in Chicago yet for butterflies.

Rachel, cute tounge twister! I know what you mean about the checkbook screaming! Ours does too! We have a service contract with the oil company, and that helps with the cost of maintenence of the burner, but everything else is a mess too! So...the checkbook screams, and yells and groans. Nice butterfly, isn't Spring great?

That looks like a big butterfly...I'm still running around the yard.

Nothing has broke down here lately to complain about...guess my checkbook is lucky for the moment.

Great picture. I can almost feel the warmth of the sun and "hear" the silence of the butterfly on the flower.

I must be working too hard. I'm starting get all mushy and eloquent.

Butteflies are precious gifts.
Love your phrase about your "checkbook screaming." I can hear it all the way out here. Ours screamed recently, too. I'm still trying to figure out a (funny) way to blog about it!

Cute tongue twister :) I'm sorry you had those expensive repairs come up. When it rains, it pours. Hope you have a great Wednesday!

I could barely read that tongue twister silently, let alone say it.
Too bad about the needed repairs. These unexpected outlays aren't good, are they?

Glad to hear you are keeping up with the spending. No use to let the account balance get too big. It will raise eyebrows.
Is it your birthday yet?

Thanks for the visit Rachel...About your Night Blooming Cactus? It will bloom again, in a year! Isn't that unbelievable? One night, once a year...that's it! That's why I'm watching "George" so carefully, cause I don't want to miss anything that happens, you know?
