RAIN AT LAST

I was going to post a picture but it won't let me, so I reckon I won't. We have finally gotten some much needed rain this afternoon. I was so glad to see it, hear it, and smell it!! There was some mighty loud thunder which the dog and cats did not appreciate.

The rain has given some relief, if only temporarily, from the heat. It has really been so hot and dry. Part of the lawn is turning brown and watering flowers in pots is a daily must do chore!

Here's a little joke I thought was cute;

A Sunday school class was studying the TenCommandments. They were ready to discuss the last one.The teacher asked if anyone could tell her what it was. Susie raised her hand, stood tall, and quoted, "Thou shall not take the covers off thy neighbor's wife."

(Sounds like good advice to me!)

So glad you're getting your rain!
Blogger is being quite the beast this afternoon. The font on my post looks like something alien has been working on it. No matter how I try, it won't let me fix it!

That little joke was really cute...Leave it to children to come up with those funny answers.

Well, I'm glad someone got some rain. The temp cooled down just a little today because it looked like rain all day, but narry a drop fell here. Patches of our grass are turning a crispy brown and crunch when you walk on it.

Thank goodness for your rain! Houston has been having rain all week, but it all missed us.
That class was either for kindergarteners or ten years later for high schoolers. Naive or Smart Alec [Hoag].

Pictures? I gave up last night and did my old canned forgotten shoe blurb. Loading pictures from late afternoon through one in morning is a waste trying.
Google may be trying to do too much taking over Blogger.

This week, the heat has left us, but I am sure it will be back barring its teeth! Last week, and two weeks ago, brutal, so brutal, we haven't shut off the air in two weeks. We finally were able to do so yesterday, and boy the dry air feels great. I like the summer, but hate the humidity, it makes me a crazy person. On days like today, and yesterday, I love it, but last week, anyone knew to stay away from me, even in the airconditioning! Glad the rain brought you some relief, those are great moments! The joke was very cute, reminds me of something my daughter would say!

I'm so glad for the rain Rachel. We too have recieved some good moisture in the last week. It was too late to help the corn but it will sure help the beans.
The last was an interpretation from the Bible I hadn't seen. :]

I wish we could get some rain here. It's the rainy season with not a drop in sight. Global warming strikes again.

These heat waves everywhere are just amazing aren't they? Glad to hear that you got some rain. It finally cooled down here, but we could use a few more showers.
