Our preacher preached this sermon yesterday!
Father traits, bad versus good (like King David and with his son, Absalom)

1. Work dedication versus family relationship

2. Word, what I say, versus example (what I do)

3. Worship, appearance of, versus relationship with God.
..
I could relate to the 3rd, I often felt that back in the Jesus freak hippie days, Jesus had a lot of groupies. But Jesus doesn't take on groupies, he wants true followers.

Now that might just be the most truthful sign I have ever seen. Great job Rachel.

Good Father's Day sign for sure but also a good sign for all humans. We are only truly the example we set.

True, true, true.

I have such a wonderful dad, and I know what a treasure he is. His example has been a great one for my brother and me, as well as my kids.
You have not written about your dad in awhile, but I recall your posts about his wood whittling. I know you loved him very much, and I'm sure you miss him.

Hi R. I've read it all and my mind went to one line. It has gotten me to wondering...How can get 'let go' as the choir director? Info please. 31 years is enough.

Rachel ~ I like this one... but I would also say that a father's advice should also be a GOOD example! But either way the statement is accurate. They learn much more by what you DO than by what you SAY! ~ jb///
