Excitement and Other Things

Yesterday I got my hair cut. I mean really cut. It had grown long and was below my shoulders. Now it's just touching my ears. It does feel better and is so much easier to take care of short, so I'm pleased with it. I took a picture with me of the hairstyle I wanted to the hairdresser. It was some longer than this cut she gave me. She glanced at it and said, "Oh that will be so cute!!' She never looked at it again and proceeded to scalp me. But that's okay. It will grow and be at that length in a couple of months. One thing about hair is that it will grow back.

I had posted earlier that I was going to take a drawing class. I had wanted to take a watercolor painting class but it was full so I was going to take the drawing class instead. I just got a call a few minutes ago and they have one more spot in the watercolor class to fill and I was offered it. I said YES! Yippee!! I'm so excited!! I'm sure glad I hadn't already gone out and bought the supplies I needed for the art class, since I can't take them both. This one will start next week and I'm so excited!! Did I mention that I'm excited?? We are supposed to paint two pictures in this class. I hope I can do it and turn out something halfway decent anyway. I'd hate for all this excitement to go to waste!

I saw this sign Thursday and thought it was a good reminder to post on here since this weekend we change our clocks up. It's time to spring forward, so don't forget!!

Oh, and I hope everyone has a better-than-great weekend!!!

I'm doing THE HAPPY DANCE for you, Rachel....THAT IS JUST GREAT! I know you will do fabulously in that class, and you will have a WONDERFUL time, too!

I cannot believe we are turning the clocks back already....! BUT, I must say, I am glad. I like when it stays lighter later....!

Have a grand weekend, my dear.

I'm sure you will really enjoy your painting class. Maybe it isn't really spring but we can pretend. I bet your haircut looks cute. I had mine cut a few weeks ago and also brought in a photo of the haircut I wanted. It doesn't look anything like the photo and I'm still in hiding. Some people can't pull off short hair and I'm one of them.

You will have fun painting. That is if they can find some talent hidden between your fingers and your brain. Or will it be 'paint by numbers?' On that the brain doesn't have to do much creating.

Of course we can't eat those paintings like we can the cakes you have been making for us.

Picture, Picture, Picture, Picture, Picture, we want a Picture. How can we know if it doesn't look good if we can't see it, huh? Picture, Picture, Picture, Picture, Picture, we want a Picture.

When I was in the Army my second haircut was from the PX. My sargeant said it wasn't short enough. I went back and told the barber that, he made it short enough. It had ripples all across the top but it was short for sure.
I should have spent another 35ยข and started over with another barber.

Hi Rachel! Don't you love when you tell the hair dresser, "Just a trim. Not to much off." Three inches later. Well I'll stop there.
I am sooo happy you are in the watercolors class. Go and have fun. You won't be disappointed.
Ugh! Time to change the clocks. Lisa

Good news about the watercolor class. You will do well.
I just wish you would quit lying. You said, "One thing about hair is that it will grow back." I am living proof that is not always the case.

Rachel,

You need to post a picture of your hair cut! YES!!

That's one thing I hate doing... getting my hair cut- so I don't do it often! I'm in dire need of a hair cut right now... maybe next week I'll do it!

Hey- great news about the art class! Have fun!!

I'm sure your haircut looks really cute. I keep mine quite short so that it's easy care.
Glad you got your class. You'll have to post some pictures of your work.
I've noticed the days are a bit longer, but still seems too soon to go on dl savings time..
Have a nice weekend!

Good news about getting into the class you wanted to get into.
The same thing happened with me when I got a haircut almost a month ago. I, too, got scalped after telling her how long I wanted it in the back and she cut all of it off. But you are right...it does grow back and mine grows fast.

I'm glad you're happy with your super short haircut. It's a good think that hair does grow, so even when we get scalped, we know it will grow out again.

Hooray for the water color class!! I'm glad there's a spot for you. I hope you'll show your art to us. I am a horrible artist. Even my stick figures are awful.

Come on spring!!!! Warm us up! I can't complain. It was 79 here in Hot Springs yesterday, and today was nice too.

We want to see a picture of your new haircut. I bet it's cute on you.

I'm glad that you were able to get into the water coloring class, and I know that you'll do great. You're just a natural. You've proven that over & over again.

Rachel, I need to see some pics of the hairdo and the paintings you'll be doing. I hope you won't forget us 'little' people when you become a famous artist.

I also got a hair cut last week. My hair hadn't been cut since last November. I could almost put it up in a pony tail...UCK!!!! My hair cut is O.k., but it kinda looks like a helmet hair cut. I found one girl that can cut my hair the way i like it, but I can't keep up with her. Everytime I need a hair cut, i can't find her. If I ever find her again, I will give her my number so she will call me if she moves on! LOL
