Sunday Signs

It's hard for me to believe that it's mid August already. Where does the time get to?

It certainly feels like August around here. Hot and humid pretty much describes it. Just walking in the yard makes me sweat. Somehow it's not exciting to have sweat running down your face and your hairline getting wet and your shirt sticking to you from just walking across the yard.

How about a few corny cold jokes?

What do you call an Eskimo cow ?
An Eskimoo !

What do snowmen wear on their heads ?
Ice caps !

What do snowmen eat for lunch ?
Icebergers !

Okay, I think I'm feeling cooler now!!

Great Signs, Rachel....
The weather is odd here this year...Very Very HUMID, for here...but these last 5 days not as HOT tempetures as usual, though it feeels horribly hot because of the Humidity!!
This used to be considered a desert here.....Now, we seem to have a lot of Humidity...Personally? I am not a fan of the wetness....I don't do well in it anymore. Maybe because I have lived here for such a long time. New York was pretty Humid in the summer...but, I'm just not used to it anymore, at all---I don't know how you do it, my dear...I'm sitting here perspiring right now from just moving around...Help!! (lol)

Hi Rachel, we just got back from our second trip. I have a lot to blog about after I stomp out a few fires around here. Glad you tackled the neighbors yard but it sounds like it was a bit of a tough go. We're going to be in the 70's much of this week.

Hey Rachel!
Good signs, as always.
We finally had a hot wee, but cooling down a bit for this week. My tomatoes are finally showing some signs of ripening...they are about 2-3 weeks behind cause of all our cool weather!

That first sign is so full of truth. I love the joke about the iceburgers, too. It is beginning to look like fall here. My flowers are not as pretty and I have seen a few leaves turning already on my trees.

I remember one year it got so hot that all the corn popped right off the stalk. Well, when the cows saw all that corn falling from the sky they thought it was snow, so they stood there and froze to death.

So maybe there's hope for you yet. Here in the Heart of America today (the 20th) it's 77 degrees, slight breeze and just plain nice.

For some reason your blog hasn't been updating in my Bloglines! I just thought you'd taken a blog break, and now here's 7 of your blog posts that've shown up all at once.

Hope you and your hubby are doing well, my friend. Take care!

Love and hugs,

Diane

What a wonderful neighbor you must be! Sure wish you lived next to me! Well, that is true, but not just because I could use the help in the yard! Just because I think you are a wonderful compassionate person. NOw don't let that go to your head!
It has been beastly hot here - already in the upper 70s when I get up - and I get up early!

That first sign is fantastic! I like your icy jokes. They cooled me off a bit, but it's still the hottest month of the year. I can't wait for October!
