Flu Shot and Sunday Sign
Things have been slow around here.
Yesterday I stood in line 40 minutes waiting to get a flu shot....in the cold! I was so glad I had a coat and gloves. Once you got inside the speed was still slow as there was papers to fill out and by the time I got through the line and got my flu shot it took 1 1/2 hours. But at least I got it, so I'm happy. They were also giving the H1N1 shot, so there was lots of kids there. I only got the regular flu shot.

I am getting my regular flu shot this week. I think Wednesday. Our Health Department has it this week. I don't think we'll have long lines here. I hate waiting in line. It will be warmer this week, too, sunny and upper 60s. Is your arm sore from the shot? Mine was last year.

That sure is some line in the photo. I got my flu shot at the doctors office and just walked in and they gave it to me. I have never had a reaction from the shot or had the flu after getting it and never had my arm get sore either. Great sign. It looks like a pretty week here. I am so glad. Sick to death of rain.
You are lucky to be able to get a flu shot. As almost always, they didn't order enough in our area. Lots of clinics had to cancel (for now.) Some people need to get fired I'm afraid to say. Great sign.
No flu shot here Rachel. H1N1 is all the talk. Last time we had that the cure killed more people than the virus.

Hi Rachel....That was quite a wait to get your Flu shot. I read somewhere just a day or two ago that they are already running out of the H1N1 Flu shot and it hasn't even been released everywhere!

Ours was walk in, show who we were, pull up the sleeve and WHAM!!!
We didn't catch anything, I hope you didn't. I don't think we will get the Pig shot either. They are saying that if we were born in the 50's or earlier we should be immune as there was a similar flu back then.
My grandmother died from the flu back in 1918. In Tekamah, not far from Cliff's MIL's house.

I guess there are long lines every where. Here they are doing the H1N1 shot first as apparently when you get the regular shot first you have a greater chance of getting the swine flu. (I hope I got that right!) The regular flu shot will be give in January.
I have never had a flu shot. My mother died less than two days after getting hers which was required since she worked in a hospital. The shots make me nervous.
I live far enough from people I rarely have close contact with anyone.
Did you read that people have given the swine flu to a herd of swine and just yesterday to a large flock of turkeys. Damn! people are dangerous.
Standing in the cold to get a flu shot, and come home with the flu, that's for sure, lol ! I never had a shot against the flu, I am against it and this other H1N1 thing is anyway only a business thing invented by the pharma industry ! I heard in the German news that there is even a toxic thing in there !
In Belgium they start now to talk about "panic makers" and the doctors usually recommend not to get the H1N1 shot.
Ron and I both are cardiology patients so our doctor reserves the regular flu shot for us. She did not recommend the H1N1.
I've never had a flu shot, nor have I had the flu. I wonder if I'm tempting fate?

The flu shot nearly killed my father several years ago - since I share his allergies, I have not tempted fate by taking the shots - only by not taking any flu shots. I am glad I am not in school around all the sneezing sniffling kids anymore.

I have been reading that the US does not have enough vaccine for everyone. Seems few countries do. Britain does. Canada does having ordered 50 million doses for our 32 million population. They are made in Canada so some other country can't cut us off. I suspect some Americas will cross the border for their shot.
I was trying to find out how much American's had to pay for the shot. I read in one of your comments that the person paid $20.
In Canada, all shots are free.
