Ahhhhh, so cute!!

Yesterday I saw this little guy (or gal) down the road about 1/4 of a mile from here. Very unusual to see a squirrel this color. He was such a pretty gray and white. He was busy eating acorns and he hopped up onto this branch which was only about 10 feet above me and munched away. He didn't seem scared at all. I do hope he stays out of the road though. What a tragedy if he ends up as road kill.

I think this tree was even surprised to see it as well!! This tree is right there in the same group where the squirrel was. Yes, it is in front of a home but the people are not there right now. It is a summer home only. I know them and they would have been thrilled to see this little squirrel as well. I hope he hangs around until the spring when they return

What an unusual squirrel. I didn't know they ever came in multicolor.

I think Carrie Underpants paid way too much and being a newbie...why would you not just appear at the door of the Rhyman with a little more humility.

I've never seen one like either of yours. Ours are just a plain brownish-red.

Gattino'scomment about "postdating" so that you can prepare your blog in advance. I do it sometimes. Lately I've not even gotten around to reading all I should, let alone get ahead.

In the gray area at the bottom of the Create/edit text page click on
"Post and Comment Options.'

A drop down time and date of posting will show up. I generally adjust mine for the correct posting time as it sets when you make it a draft to save it mid-way through.

I read the manual if there is a problem or something I can't make work.

I would like to ask Rachel for a hat but she probably wouldn't like that. I have one from Central.

Another blog I visit noted an albino squirrel on his place. It seems he was an easy target for a raptor. I hope your squirrels coat acts more like camouflage. Thanx for the pictures, Rachel.

I've never seen one like that either -- how cool. We have lots of jet black ones around Calgary with the odd fluffy, grey one.

Well Rachel I would like to say that that is an unusal squirrel - but everyone else has already. But I do like that last picture.

He looks to be a partial albino squirrel. I have seen pictures of them before. We have grey squirrels and fox squirrels, which are rusty red in color. We also have the occasional grey or fox squirrel mixed with black.

Have a great Friday and weekend, Rachel, and Merry Christmas!

I have never seen a squirrel that looked like this one. We have a few black squirrels running around, but the majority of them are the garden variety gray. Thanks for stopping by!

He is adorable! In Brevard, NC where I grew up the white squirrel was one of the towns trademarks. They are everywhere. Never saw a mulitcolor one though

Great photo fo both the unusual squirrel and the fun tree! I hope, too, that the squirrel makes it OK; I don't know about squirrel color genetics but maybe he can pass the trait on and you'll have lots of piebald squirrels someday!

The scientific name for that animal is 'squirrelus holstienus'.

Rachel, I love to draw squirrels; there's something about their bushy tails and tiny "hands" that fascinates me. I also love to watch them
That gray/white one is awesome! Glad you had your camera.

I've never seen a gray & white squirrel around these parts either. You reckon it was a cross between being an albino and a gray? Did you see the color of it's eyes?

In Arizona I saw a brown & white squirrel and it sure looked strange to me. Didn't look like a squirrel at all except for it's shape. It had very long fluffy hair too.

I'm glad you carry your camera with you everywhere. *S*

Chunky little thing, isn't he? How'd you get so close without him running off?

I'm diggin' the tree! That is too funny!
