I Did It Again

I took down all the Christmas decorations a few days ago, and I tried real hard not to forget anything. I stood there and looked all around the room trying to find anything I might have missed. After a few days I thought I was home free!

Now today, I see this little ornament with my name on it hanging by the fireplace. I just got this one this year and I just put it there on impulse. It's actually a little sled. Cute isn't it?

Am I the only one that takes decorations down and puts them away only to discover that you have forgotten something?

I do that every year too! This year it was an over the door picture. At least what you missed was relativly small! I remember going to my Moms once and seeing 1 string of Christmas bells in a door way, a Valentine decoration in the window and a St. Patricks Day one on the door! We can't be that bad yet!

Nope, you certainly aren't the only one who does that! lol Every year, I seem to miss putting away something...this year it was my wreath on the side door...now I've decided to leave it there for a couple more weeks! lol Hugs xox

That happens to me every year.
I keep everything for Christmas under the stairs so I just throw whatever I find there. Some of it even lands in a Christmas box..

You probably are! At least you are ahead of us with taking things down. But we didn't get our tree until two days before Christmas.
They are posted for Tuesday, December 26, 2006 on my Christmas tree site, http://jimmiehov7.blogspot.com/
We got them when the Hobby Lobby had them for half price. For sure we have to leave them up for a little while.

Well, I didn't have that problem this year, since I didn't put anything up. But ask me again next year when I decorate.

I haven't put away all my Christmas things away yet, Rachel...but, I'm willing to bet I will do the same thing as you and I bet just about everybody else, too! LOL!
That IS a very very cute ornament, by the way!

Rachel, it happens to us every year. I inevitably find SOMETHING that should be in a box in the attic, so I put it in a "safe" place for next year! Safe my tushy, it seems that I never find these things again.

I haven't even begun to take down my decorations. Sigh.
It takes so much energy with two little girls running around me. I am going to try to get to it today.
Hopefully I won't forget anything.

No, I do it too! I actually have a drawer in the shed that I put "forgotten Christmas items" into.
The rest are stored in the garage rafters and are not so accessible!

I haven't taken down any Christmas stuff yet. I know it needs to be done but I don't have the energy yet.

That little sled is soooooo cute!
Have a wonderful day!

Oh, of course, I do it too. I even have a designated spot to put them when I discover them a month later. :)

We have to leave ours up longer. We have this tradition in Denver to leave at least our outside lights up until the National Western Stock Show is over. Newbies question us veterans about this, and the only answer I have found is that in the old days (okay, way back folks), when the Stock Show was first going "National", it looked pretty from the air as people were flying in. It made Denver look bigger than it was at the time. Just FYI, folks!

What? You don't leave them up all year like we do in Indiana?

Every year I forget one thing or another and it's usually something tiny and not worth getting down the boxes to put it away. And you won't believe that while typing out this comment I just found 6 Christmas picture ornaments still hanging next to my computer. I did it again too!

One year, Motherkitty took a picture of Jimmy & I in August and when we got home and looked at the pictures there were Christmas lights hanging around the house...So we all forget things and sometimes it's closer to leaving them up than taking them down. *LOL*

I came looking for the church sign.
Guess that "Rachel" pic from your last post will do just as good.
Seriously I hope you are feeling ok and didn't miss going by because you lost some more essential body parts.

I didn't have any leftover ornaments or decorations that popped up after I packed it all away. I do still find tinsel and pine needles though even after I've swept and mopped twice since I took all the holiday stuff down.

Cute ornament! It looks like a winter ornament, so you can keep it up until winter is over. :)
