Red Hot Body Picture Plus More!!!

What a week I've had. It's been wild and I have not been on the computer at all hardly. So I am way behind on posting and blog reading. That's life sometimes though.

Last Friday I had a day off and someone here to stay with my husband. I went to my brother's cabin and visited with them for most of the day. It's very peaceful there. There was only one vehicle that went by while I was there and before that had only been the mailman. This is the road driving in. It was kind of hard to find sometimes due to the leaves covering it.

It was nice to get away and not having to worry about my husband while I was gone. I came home at 8 p.m. and he was confused all evening. At 2 a.m. Saturday morning I noticed how hot he felt so I took his temperature and it was 102. He also had a place on his left hip/thigh/buttock that was red and very hot to the touch. He does this sometimes. Gets red hot spots on his skin and runs a fever. The doctor does not know why. They give him antibiotics and he gets better, the temp. goes down, the red spots go away. This time it's early Saturday morning. I have no antibiotics. The weekend. No doctor. I gave him Tylenol as needed. He did not sleep for 3 days and nights. I debated as to calling an ambulance and having him taken to the ER. What could they do? Draw blood and keep us there all night/day? I decided to wait it out until Monday morning and get in touch with the VA nurse, which is what I did. They called in antibiotics about 1 p.m. He has never had as many red spots as he had this time. I assume this is because of the delay in getting started on antibiotics. He ended up having red spots on his right upper arm, his left thigh, both inner thighs, down the back of both legs and over his left knee. Now they are all gone and his temp. today was 99.

Here is a picture of his left thigh area, to show you this strange rash..or whatever it is.

Tuesday I had a bug of some sort and felt awful and sick at my stomach. Wednesday I felt like crap too. Thursday I was pretty much back to normal, thankfully.

Since I'm telling about sickness, Pup is sick too. He has been feeling bad for a couple of days. There are no visible signs of anything but he hobbles around like he's in awful pain. He is eating. Not much, but eating. He is drinking and peeing. I'm hoping this gets better on its' own. Maybe he pulled something? I have no idea but I'm hoping it's minor. If he isn't better by Monday I'll take him to the vet.

Now aren't I just full of exciting news?? Well, that has been my week...pretty much....

except......

Yesterday I decided to make cookies and decorate them. Cookie anyone?

I hope your week has been wonderful, and I will get around to doing some blog reading hopefully soon!!

Wow, I'm hoping everything is better soon! I had my father in ER on Monday night and he just got out of the hospital, so I'm happy about that! :)

I think we could all use a cookie right now. Nice decorating job on those...very patriotic. ;)

Too bad everyone's been sick. That rash on your hubby looks like nettle rash, or hives. I've had 'em and they ain't no fun, that's for sure! I wonder if he's having an allergic reaction to something?

Have a good Sunday and I hope Pup is better soon and doesn't need to visit the vet.

Love and hugs,

Diane

Rachel, sorry to hear that your whole house has been sick. I think your hubby get what my mother used to call a "fever rash." SOme folks get a rash when they have a fever, no explanation, it just happens. I think one of my sisters used to get it, mom said. I don't know, they are older than me, way! I hope that you all are doing better, the cookies look great, best medicine for not feeling well, cheery cookies! What did you use to decorate them?

You have had a rough time, too!
May I make a suggestion? Keep a food diary on what your husband eats also if he takes any medication just once in a long while. See if he reacts to something.
Hope all of you are doing better this week!

You surely did have a heck of a week!
I knew about Phil's spots, fever, and EXTENDED confusion, but I didn't know you'd gotten sick too.
I'm glad yours lasted only two days.
Hopefully, Pup is getting better. Poor fella.
I sure hope those cats stay healthy!!
Jamie Dawn (your kitty) does not like being sick, and she does not like for others around her to be sick either. She likes to be petted regularly and fed lots and lots.
Jamie Dawn (your blog buddy) does not like to be sick, and she likes to eat cookies. She is really eyeing those ones you made. You did a great job!!
I made some yummy peanut butter cookies last night, and they are all gone now. I ate about ten of them myself. Don't be surprised at that because that is my usual way of hogging the good treats.
I hope you have a much better week. I hope Phil has fully recovered and is in good spirits and a good frame of mind.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I have never heard of anyone getting a rash like that. I pray the Dr. can find out what is causing it. I wonder if it's from one of his medications?

And I pray your pup is also doing better. I really hate it when there is any kind of sickness in my house, and you are getting it from all sides. That is not fair!
God bless you.

Say your cookies are so prety. I'm amazed that you have any energy left to bake and decorate.
God bless you and your loved ones too.
Hugs& Prayers

I'm so glad you were able to get away for a day,,,it looks so very beautiful and peaceful where the cabin is!! Oh dear, that rash and fever do sound kind of strange, considering it comes and goes...thank goodness the antibiotics help clear it up when it does happen. Sorry to hear that you also weren't feeling very well for a couple of days. And now the pup is sick...hopefully he'll be better soon as well!! Those cookies look fabulous...I'll take a couple please:-) xoxo

You have had a time of it, Rachel...I hope Pup gets better on his own...cause then you know it is nothing too serious...! Prayers coming your way, my dear....

Oh, and I have been allowing myself two truffles a day...Isn't that good? I don't gave much discipline when it comes to Chocolate, so I am proud of myself that it is only 2 a day....(LOL)
YUMMMMMMY!

Hi Rachel, I should have come a lot earlier, you were hurting! I am sorry for that, it's kinda like the song, "Everybody's leaving town."
But then you had 26 friends come to cheer you up and give you some advice.
I don't have any advice except I think it is something you ate. The dog got the leftovers and got it last.
Adi hurt her back shaking her teddy bear one year, maybe Pup is getting too old to be doing the things he is doing.
Hang in there,
:-)
..
Are there any cookies left?
