Howdy Friends!!!

Earlier in the week it was in the 70's and so nice. You can see these guys fishing down below us in the lake. They were taking advantage of this nice weather. Whether they caught any fish or not is another question, but it was sure a nice day to be outside in the sunshine enjoying it, and the lake was a nice choice I'm sure.

We got some of this white stuff with sleet mixed in and the cake decorating class was cancelled tonight. I was disappointed and since I had worked hard last night to get everything ready, I decided to go ahead and fix the cake like we would have been doing in class tonight.

Here's the cake! Butter pecan. My husband and I both declared it to be quite delicious! It was a learning experience to decorate this one but I was happy with how it turned out overall.

I got these pictures ready to post earlier and now that I'm getting this posted it has snowed over 2 inches. It's a beautiful night out and so bright that you could easily drive without your headlights on (but I wouldn't recommend it)! It's so pretty with the snow clinging to the trees and covering everything. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 40's so this snow won't last long. Typical March weather!!

A very beautiful cake. It looks delicious, too. Yes, this weather is warm one day and snow the next. It really makes you appreciate the warm ones.

I'm stumped...How did you make the center of that ribbon on the cake. That is really neat and I love your cake. It really does look like a gift.

We have about 3-4 inches of snow this morning, but it is leaving already...Praise the Lord, because I'm ready for spring and so are my flowers.

I love those full moon nights...they're beautiful especially with a blanket of snow.

Well we got our snow this morning, then it turned to rain, then back to snow, and now it is raining again and all traces of snow are gone. Tis that time of year... it always snows on the daffodils, so I hope this is it.
My that cake looks delicious! I bet you are glad I am not living next door! I'd be at your door with a plate and fork in my hand!

Lovely cake. I can imagine how good it tasted.

Winter nights that are clear with a full moon are always wonderful. They are amazingly bright with calm winds.
You do not need a flashlight to get around. On such nights you can snowshoe or cross country ski or ice-fish easily.

Of course, when there are the Northern Lights, which we can see here occasionally, it is mystical.

Hi Racheal! We had spring like weather too. Got the itch for gardening, but was soon chilled. We lucked out and didn't get any of the white stuff. I have had my fill of that.
Your cake is beautiful. I wish I was there to help with the taste testing. Lisa

Awsome job on the cake! I've never had Butter Pecan cake, sounds delish! Your classes have inspired me into thinking about looking into a photography class. We didn't get any snow but temps dropped back into the low teens and wind took a few shingles off my roof! Ugh! It's warming back up though and my daughter is getting the itch to go fishing. I think I'll go buy her a new pole today. Hope you have a wonderful week!

Nice looking cake. I took cake decorating classes for a little while. Didn't follow through, but may go back and start over.

We had a few days of spectacular weather about a week ago. Then a few more days of brutal cold (19 degrees for 48 hours!). Global warming is supposed to reach into the 40s here in the Heart of America today. Yee-haw.

Your cake is so pretty and looks yummy to. I don't think it looks very heart healthy for the diet that my doctor is suggesting, boo hoo! It's heading towards a warming trend here in Nebraska. Yahoo!

Good Morning Rachel,
I am back bloggin again and I do hope you will come to visit mw when you have tim. I had a stroke last month and also have congestive heart failure as well as high blood pressure on top of my alreyady type 12 Diabetes. I've had to change my diet completely now. I have to weigh, check my blood pressure and check my sugar 2 times a day now nd write it all down. I am pretty much a walking drug store these days. LOL. My CHF is being treated with meds for now. I got back to see the Cardiologist on the 24th of this month and hopefully they can continue to treat it with meds. We got some Freeaing Rain, sleet and a bit of Snow here on Thursday also. They did let School out at 10:00a.m.that morning too. By late afternoon, it was pretty much all gone except the ice on the trees and high line wire. I was so scared we were going to have another Ice Storm like back in January. It rained here on Friday night late and half of Saturday. Today is suppose to be sunny and warmer. Your cake is just adorable. My sister went to a Cake Decoratig Class several years ago and she has made several types of cakes for different people. I wish you the best on it and look forward to seein pictures of the cakes you do make in the future. Take care my friend and have Blessed Sunday. May GOD BLess you and yours.
Love,
Karen H.
