Blogging and Blogging Friends
I have been blogging since October 1, 2005. The first person to comment was Cliff. In fact I actually found his blog.......I have no clue as to how....but reading his blog I was thinking that he seemed like such a nice guy with such a nice family. So I started blogging. Back then I thought you had to have a blog to comment on other blogs! It has taken me awhile to figure out things and there is still so much I don't know how to do. Some people have neat headers and they change them for the seasons. I have no idea how to do that and I'd be afraid to try for fear I'd lose my whole blog or mess it up so badly it couldn't be fixed.
I have been lucky to meet some of my blogging friends and that is such a wonderful thing about blogging. There are so many nice people out there in blogland. In fact there are so many nice blogs that it's impossible to follow all of them. I mean, unless you want to spend ALL your time on the computer! I don't think you could follow all of them even if you did!
Last Friday I got to see Jerry, who has been a blogging friend for quite some time. This was the 4th time that I have met him. He stopped by here on his way to another Blog Meet in TN. I think Jerry has probably met more bloggers than most! He likes to travel and therefore, gets around to the areas where his blogging friends live. It's always a pleasure to see him!
Sunday Sign (thanks to Ralph.)

Great Post, my dear! I started on October 6th and I didn't look up when you came by, but you were one of the first people I didn't know who commented, and the only other comments I had were from Danny Miller & his wife Kendall Hailey who were the people who hot me started blogging....I don't remember how we---you and I--- found each other...But I love that you know the date of my first comment! October 16th. Right?
CONGRATULATIONS on 5 years, my dear Rachel. I so enjoy our friendship and have always hoped we could meet "in person" one day---but, that has not been possible, so far. Who knows? Maybe it WILL happen some day! Meanwhile...I hope you keeep on Blogging, dear Rachel!
Happy blogiversary. So glad you blog and count you as a very dear blog friend. Love your church signs. Keep em coming! LOL
I only recently discovered Cliff Morrow; I was directed there by a school teacher in Kansas City. Isn't it amazing how we stumble on these blogs? I do have too many blogs to follow every day, but I try to check in on all of them from time to time.
For the life of me, I don't think I could remember where most of my blogger friends and I first "met"! I just know that there have been many who I can truly call my friends. And for that, blogger, I am truly grateful! Any idea how we "met" Rachel????
Jerry stopped by my place once a few years ago. He's a great person. I've met a few others whose Blogs I've been reading for a while. It's a great way to make friends. I started doing this so long ago I used AOL to connect on a dial-up modem. Talk about an old timer. That's me. I love it. I wish I had eyes that would allow me to spend all the time I wanted out here. I consider you a friend. Is that alright? I doubt that I'll be dropping by your place anytime soon.
Happy Anniversary. I love that sign. It is funny. I like to blog too but it seems I am always behind on my comments lately.
Love that church sign...lol I know a few of my blogging friends in person but I would love to meet more...
G'day Rachel, you have repeated what I've read other bloggers say quite often, its a community I'm very pleased to have been associated with for a long time now.
I am glad you decided to blog... I have been keeping up with you for several years.
Funny how some of us worry about fellow bloggers when they are "absent" for long periods of time.
Happy blogiversary Rachel. Yep, there are a lot of good blogs out there being written by some great people.
i also have to agree with possum - if they don't put a nw post every once in awhile you do in a sense start to worry about them.
Ralph
Congratulations, Rachel!
Happy Blog Anniversary!
Would be great to meet blog friends in person!
I discovered you and Cliff and Ralph through Jamie Dawn. Don't we all just miss Jamie Dawn something awful? She was a blogging hoot and maybe she will return.
Hello dear Rachel, I'm now back to blogging after my break to renovate my living room...glad that's all done now!! lol
Isn't it amazing the wonderful friendships made through blogging and it's so much fun when you can actually meet some in person. What a treat to meet up with Jerry again and I think it's terrific that he's able to travel so much and can meet a lot of blogging friends.
I'm just so happy that we have gotten to know each other through our blogs:-) xoxo
Hi Rachel,
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
I like your church sign. If our pastor put that sign out I would visit another church that I've always wanted to check out. I'm sure he meant to visit his church because someone good would be preaching in his place.
Neat headers? You are like me, still blogging with the OLD Blogger. We aren't allowed that luxury but it is easy on some of the newer templates for the NEW Blogger.
..
Mrs. Jim and I are very glad to have met you. Sometime we MIGHT drop by. My BIL lives in Tennessee, near Jackson (Milan).
..
Ha! I love the church sign. :)
As for meeting bloggers, I'm all for it...although it hasn't happened yet. I agree with you, there are plenty of captivating, interesting blogs out there, but it is IMPOSSIBLE to follow them all. I like to stick to a chosen few and the occasional drop-in.
PS - It's me, "Scarlet"...the chica from Miami. I started a new blog under a new name, but don't feel you have to follow me. lol Just pop in and say hello whenever you want. Btw, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! Hope you have a wonderful feast!
Hi Rachel, I a comment earlier but it is time to say Hi again! ;)
And that I hope you guys are staying warm. The weather we have seems to get worse by the time it gets to you.
Congratulations on your five years! You are two months older a blogger than I am.
You left the first comment on my blog back on December First! Thank you again! Cliff was the second. I knew Cliff before I knew that he had a blog. He was a very good friend of my dad and our daughters, Karen and Julie, played together when we would visit my folks.
..
How fun to see Jerry! He is amazing! He got me started on blogging and that led to Cliff, Ralph and you.
Love it!
