Slingshots

This oak tree that is right close to the house would make a dandy giant slingshot, don't you think? Now I'm sure everyone reading this knows what a slingshot is. When we were kids it was something you naturally had to have. My Dad was always the best with a slingshot. I sure wouldn't have wanted him shooting one at me! Maybe all girls didn't have one since it was more of a boy thing, but I was always what they called a "tomboy," so I had to have one too.

Looks like this next week is going to be a hot one. Hot and humid. Be a great time to go to the beach or the lake, or the pool. Just be sure and apply plenty of sunscreen. Or just stay home with the AC on!

I grew up with my brother who is 2 years older than me, and he taught me how to use a slingshot, and most everything else that boys do. Yeah, I was a tomboy too.
Yes, I am staying in the A/C. Only go out to feed the cats twice a day.

Hi, Rachel, I saw your comment at Raggedy's site. I am also from Kentucky. From the posts I've read here, you are not too far from me! (I'm in Corbin, but I never mention it on my site) I will be back to read more!

I think I'll opt for staying inside in the A/C. This heat is getting old fast! Hope you are keeping cool. Have a great Sunday!

I was definately a tom boy too and had my very own sling shot. Most of the time I made them out of forked sticks and a thick rubberband. I was never what you would call a great shot like the boys.

Jimmy is out weedeating in this heat, but at least it's 10am and not as hot as it will be later. Today is one of those days when I wished I had a pool to dip into.

Sure, looks like a big Slingshots!

Thank you so much, Rachel, for your visiting and nice compliment about my family's photos. I have a lot of photos of my mother and father as a baby and young and I have also a lot of photos of me as a baby, toddler, little girl, adolescent etc. I have many photos because the brother of my grandfather was a photographer and he must have carried a camera with him very often, I think. My godfather liked to take pictures very often too, so I have many albums and box full of pictures.

Have a good week!

I was a tomboy too, but I did not have a slingshot.
I loved to arm wrestle and play sports.
That tree would make a perfect slingshot for a giant.
It has been so hot all over the country.
I did a little work outside on Sunday afternoon and nearly had heatstroke. I vote for staying inside with the AC!
