Lunch With Friends

Recently I got together with Jimmy and Sandy and we met for lunch. Jimmy and Sandy are the sweetest couple you'd ever want to meet. We actually met through blogging and then it turned out that we knew some of the same people and Sandy and I had both worked at the same place back years ago, but not at the same time. We had a good meal and good conversation. That day was very rainy, so they were not able to ride their motorcycles! They LOVE riding their bikes as much as possible!

Here's Jimmy!!!
I have posted a lot of church signs in my blogging days and I get many of them from the Redeemer Lutheran  Church which is a couple of miles from here, and I finally got to meet the person who puts up the signs! Here she is below and her name is Dorla. She said she is always looking for different signs to use. I told her that I had posted oodles of the signs on my blog and I like how many times the signs tie in with something that is going on locally.

Here is the finished sign. I'm late I know since it's not Sunday, but blogger gave me some problems, so a day late it is!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far and that it gets even better!!

Hi Rachel ~~ I am glad that you got to hang out with Jimmy and Sandy again. Isn't Jimmy the one who took you for a ride a while back and I wasn't happy because you weren't wearing a helmet?

I probably wouldn't have said that today. I hadn't met you and found out how nice you were. People should be nice to people they don't know very well because they may turn out to be a Rachel.

Nice too that you could meet Dorla and could get her picture doing a part of her work. That was a nice sign she put up.

And yes, Adi is having a hard time. She has arthritis so bad that her left rear hip moves bone on bone (like my knee did). Pills and shots got her walking on all four legs again.

Then she forgot how to walk on two other legs on her left side. Pills helped a pinched nerve in her spine at the neck.

How nice that you got to see Sandy & Jimmy, once again....I know you always have such a great time with them...! And Dorla, too...How wonderful is that? I bet she was pleased to know that you post her very inventive signs...!

We had a pouring rain with HUGE wind-gusts, yesterday---In fact the Wind was kind of scary...! We needed the rain so very much that I'm glad we had it, but I could have done without that very scary wind...!

Meeting with blog friends is always special. Today I am having lunch with Miss Kris who moved here from Portland about a year ago. This will be the second time we have gotten together. I also has been enjoying riding my motorcycle. This early spring has been wonderful but it seems to have cooled off for a while now. The bike will have to wait till it warms up again! What a treat to be able to meet your sign author, maybe you will be her inspiration one day!

You probably win a prize for meeting the most of our blog friends. I had a chance to meet Cliff and Marilyn this past week but doctor's appointments and kids visiting for Spring break plus storming and floods and conflicting schedules kept that from happening.

Someday our trips will take us close to your place in Kentucky and we will meet you. Hopefully we will be able to start traveling again soon.

Thanks for you congrats on my 7th year of blogging. I wore myself out and am not sure if this blog-weary self will return after completing these 7 years. I'll still keep an eye on you though:)

Hi Rachel, I love your spring pictures. They are very beautiful.

It sounds like you had a wonderful visit and there is nothing better than spending time with friends on a rainy day!

The sign is great and such a great reminder for this Easter!

I always enjoy your signs. My denomination published church signs under a program called Wayside Pulpit. They we not ususally funny but quotations of an uplifting kind from religious and secular literature. This many reflect our dour Calvinist distant origins. In any case, we seem to be a serious lot.

Hi Rachel,

I think it's so neat that you and Sandy and Jimmy have gotten to know each other. I like Sandy a lot-love reading about her family-and all those new babies!! :)

Sorry I've been falling behind with keeping up with my blog pals as much as I did in the past...trying to catch up with everyone!

Take care,

Junie
