Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving

It's raining cats and dogs. Has been for a couple of days. It pours and then it lets up and then it pours again. Everything is soaked to the roots and way beyond by now.  Supposed to stop overnight and be dryer tomorrow.

With the time change it gets dark so early. Last night I thought it was about 10 p.m. or so and I was shocked when I looked at the clock and it was well after midnight.

Last week 10 members of my family got together to eat and to celebrate the 9th birthday of my great niece Kaylee. Here's part of us all in the photo below. We believe in being comfortable! I am the tennis shoe on the left.  My nephew was a little worried what people might think about us all standing in a circle in the restaurant parking lot! He said people might think we were crazy or something. I told him it made no difference what they thought and it only took a few seconds to get the picture.

I enjoyed it. It's always so nice to visit with the family. I think we are going back to the same buffet restaurant for Thanksgiving, at least some of us are.  I'm looking forward to that and I'll do my best not to over eat. Ha! No promises though!!!

Meanwhile, I hope that everyone out there has a wonderful blessed Thanksgiving. The current church sign that I take so many photos of has this sign up now;

Get rick quick.
Count your blessings.

True words for sure.

Here's my wish for your Thanksgiving as well (and mine too!)

May your stuffing be tasty

May your turkey plump,

May your potatoes and gravy

Have never a lump.

May your yams be delicious

And your pies take the prize,

And may your Thanksgiving dinner

Stay off your thighs!

Hi Rachel, I hope you are having a very nice Thanksgiving and enjoying the buffet! :)

It sounds like you had a nice time visiting with family.

We had Domino's Pizza as it was a long work and school day for everyone. No holiday in London!

That is neat your niece runs. Is she training for anything? My marathon is in 20.5 weeks, but who is counting! :) My kettlebell is 6 kg - I just couldn't bring myself to purchase an 8 or 12 kg kettlebell like I use with Sonja... I will let her torture me, but doing that to myself.

Have a great weekend!

Hi Rachel! I hope your Thanksgiving was happy! (I think it was!)
We went to Gabby's Buffet in Humbolt, Tennessee for our Thanksgiving meal. It was pretty good. With a guy cooking not everything can be as good as Mom or Mrs. Jim could make. :)

Your nephew is correct. A large group in a parking lot, in a tight circle with one foot in the middle, would probably get me to use the word 'crazy.'

I would add, May your cranberry sauce be home made and not the gelatin kind out of a tin. If my cranberry sauce is not the former kind with lots of lumpy berries in it the meal is spoiled for me.

I thought this was a peculiar quirk of mine until I read an article on this very point.

Love the Thanksgiving blessing - won't work but it is the thought that counts.

My Christmas wish for you, my friend
Is not a simple one
For I wish you hope and joy and peace
Days filled with warmth and sun

I wish you love and friendship too
Throughout the coming year
Lots of laughter and happiness
To fill your world with cheer

May you count your blessings, one by one
And when totaled by the lot
May you find all you've been given
To be more than what you sought

May your journeys be short, your burdens light
May your spirit never grow old
May all your clouds have silver linings
And your rainbows pots of gold

I wish this all and so much more
May all your dreams come true
May you have a Merry Christmas friend
And a happy New Year, too .. xoxo
