Saturday Funnies and Sunday Sign

A blonde was weed-eating her yard and
Accidentally cut off the tail of her cat
Which was hiding in the grass.
She rushed her cat, along with the tail over
To WAL-MART!
Why WAL-MART?
HELLOOOOOOOOO!
WALMART is the largest re-tailer in the world!!!**********************************************************

Red Skelton’s receipe for the perfect marriage.

If you remember Red, You will enjoy these.

1. Two times a week, we go to a nice restaurant, have a little beverage, good food and companionship. She goes on Tuesdays, I go on Fridays.

2. We also sleep in separate beds. Hers is in California and mine is in Texas.

3. I take my wife everywhere..... but she keeps finding her way back.

4. I asked my wife where she wanted to go for our anniversary. "Somewhere I haven't been in a long time!"she said. So I suggested the kitchen.

5. We always hold hands. If I let go, she shops.

6. She has an electric blender, electric toaster and electric Bread-maker. She said "There are too many gadgets and no place to sit down!" … So I bought her an electric chair.

7. My wife told me the car wasn't running well because there was water in the carburetor. I asked where the car was; she told me "In the lake."

8. She got a mud pack and looked great for two days. Then the mud fell off.

9. She ran after the garbage truck, yelling "Am I too late for the garbage?" .... The driver said "No, jump in!"

10. Remember: Marriage is the number one cause of divorce.

11. I married Miss Right. I just didn't know her first name was Always.

12. I haven't spoken to my wife in 18 months. I don't like to interrupt her.

13. The last fight was my fault though. My wife asked "What's on the TV?" I said "Dust!"

How Bout Some Beans?

Jim gave me this nice award! Wasn't that sweet? Now I'm supposed to pick 5 bloggers to pass it on to. Okay, I'll pick Lucy, Cliff, Ralph, Sandy, and Jerry. Now I know you all are excited, especially you Cliff!! Haha!!

Vidalia onions are here!! Whoo-hoo!! I luv' em!!!

I saw this sign in a restaurant over in Monticello, KY! They had it painted on the outside of the window and I had to smile at it and take a picture to share!! I did not eat there, but I might have if I had seen this place first. I'll have to try it out sometime. We grew up on pinto beans and friend taters!! I had just eaten at another place that has the best fried catfish ever.

A friend told me about a friend of hers that was eating at a restaurant with her husband. They were having the pinto beans and cornbread. When they brought his bowl of beans he found 2 roaches in it. They called the waitress over and she apologized and then she asked this question, "Would you like another bowl of beans?"
That line just cracked me up!! I think I would have said, "Yes, and could I get 4 roaches this time instead of just two?"
The man instead said, "No, I don't want a thing."
What would you have said?

CICADA'S ARE HERE

In my last post I asked for help moving my favorites list around. I didn't mean on my blog. I meant 'my favorites list' on my sidebar.....not anything to do with my blog. Some of you thought I meant my blog list. I know how to do that one. Now I know how to move my favorites list too, thanks to Jim!! Just drag them around to move them. You would think I could have figured that one out on my own, but I'm always afraid to try too many things with my computer for fear that all my info will suddenly vanish before my very eyes never to be found again.

I had posted back in January about this year being the year that the cicadas are supposed to be around for their 17 year visit. Today I noticed that quite a few have arrived here. I noticed a bunch of the empty shells around the back side of the house and on the back of the outside building and on the trees. There was also several of the cicada's sitting around too. Here is a picture of one of the shells and one of the cicada's sitting at the very bottom of our back drain pipe right next to the ground. They have big eyes don't they!

SUNDAY SIGN

I do hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day and enjoy some time relaxing or visiting with family. Let us not forget the ones who have died so that we can be free.

Whenever I See A Soldier Boy
by Sam Miller 1942

Whenever I see a soldier boy
No matter where it be
I give him salutation
for he means so much to me

He's not the boy we used to know
In store, at desk or plow
He's a defender of our faith
He's in the service now

He keeps Old Glory flying
on land and air and sea
He lives to make our homes secure
He dies to keep us free.

all gave some.......some gave all..........

THE FINGER and SUNDAY SIGNS

I KNEW you all were dying to see my nephew's finger. For those that don't know, he almost cut it off with a saw and they did surgery and this is how it's doing thus far. He still has something he wears on it but he took it off for me to get pictures. It is still swollen a bit. His hand is all dry from being under the bandages for so long. If you'd like to see the pictures closer up you can click and enlarge the photos.

Here's THREE Sunday Signs. At first all they had up was 'Sign Resting' and then they added the 'Awaiting Ohio Navy' later. The Ohio Navy is all the folks from Ohio that come to Lake Cumberland during the summer. I doubt there'll be as many this year with the lake still low and the price of gas being so high. That gas stuff gets really high, especially when you drive an SUV pulling a boat and then paying for the gas to run the boat once it's on the water. Ouch!

Hope everyone has a fun-filled, delightful, and blessed Sunday!

Baby Birds and Fashion Shows

My neighbor has a bird's nest on top of the wreath outside her front door. I know these birds are about ready to fly away in the photo and they are probably flown away by now. They are so cute!! Looking at the wreath the nest is up at the top. Smart bird to build there. Out of the weather on a beautiful porch and this neighbor has no cats!!

Today I went to a luncheon and a fashion show. This was through Senior Friends. I really enjoyed it. This is one of my friends that was modeling. Doesn't she remind you somewhat of Junie Rose? Well, when I saw the picture I took it just made me think of Junie Rose!

We have been having lots of rain and today was one of those days. It was a good day to be inside talking with all the ladies, sipping coffee, and watching a fashion show!

Happy Mother's Day

Today was so pretty and since we had rain yesterday and more rain expected tomorrow, I really needed to mow the yard. I got that chore done and then I got the pressure washer out and did the sidewalk. Now it looks brand spanking new...so clean and pretty!! Amazing what those pressure washers will do.

Have you seen those gravity chairs? They are so comfortable. You just push back with your feet on the bar at the bottom and it lays you back just like a recliner!! I do believe you could fall asleep easily in one of those. The one I sat in was as comfortable as a recliner too. Someone told me that at Walmart they sell for about $45 each.

To all Mother's out there, I wish you a wonderful Happy Mother's Day and I hope you get treated like royalty!

Here's your Sunday Signs!

R.I.P. Gooseberry

We have been having beautiful weather!! I have been enjoying it.
Sadly, yesterday I had to have poor Gooseberry put to sleep. I had thought he had the AIDS thing but he had the feline leukemia. He had been sick before with lots of congestion. After two rounds of antibiotics he got better but not well. After that he got right back to full blown congestion again. Yesterday the vet did a blood count and he only had 8% red blood cells, which she said was really really low. She said he might get to feeling better with antibiotics but never cured. She suggested that putting him to sleep would probably be the best thing to do. So now he is buried in the flower garden alongside three other cats. I doubt he was a year old even but the vet said his teeth and gums looked much older. She guessed he was 4 or 5 years old. I told her that wasn't possible because he wasn't full grown when I got him last fall. This is the effect that feline leukemia has on them.
Here's a joke I thought was funny!!!

ROSES & HANGING BASKETS

A teenage granddaughter comes downstairs for her date

with this see-through blouse on and no bra.

Her grandmother just pitched a fit, telling her not to dare go out like that!

The teenager tells her 'Loosen up Grams. These are modern times. You gotta let your rose buds show!' and out she goes.

The next day the teenager comes down stairs, and the grandmother is sitting there with no top on. The teenager wants to die. She explains to her grandmother that she has friends coming over and that it is just not appropriate....

The grandmother says, 'Loos en up, Sweetie. If you can show off your rose buds, then I can display my hanging baskets.

KY DERBY DAY

Here's a picture that I took back in September 2006. I thought gas was high then. Gosh, I sure wish it was back down to that price now!

If you watch the news then you might have heard about the Derby. The second place filly, Eight Belles, broke both ankles after she had won and had to be euthanized on the spot. How very sad. I'm sure that the owners are glad she crossed that finish line in second place before breaking both ankles, but still....so tragic and sad.

I've lived in KY all my life and never been to a Derby. I don't desire to go. I love horses but I don't care for horse racing. They say that thoroughbreds were born to run and they love to run. In that case I don't think a jockey should be allowed to carry a whip. When they get in that stretch you'll see the whips flying. If they love to run then let them run without the use of a whip. If they truly love to run then they are going to want to win. I know....some of you think I'm wimpy and all that, but that's just my opinion on the subject.
Have a very blessed Sunday!

National Day of Prayer

This tree I had shown pictures of before. It has all these seeping holes in it. I just don't know how it can survive much longer, but for now it's still living. It now has this huge hole it it. I expect a woodpecker has been after any bugs it could find and found this tree easy pickings.

We've been having some wonderful spring like weather and I'm all for that.

Remember, today is National Day of Prayer!!
